Southill is a beautiful village in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside. The fabulous Shuttleworth with its collection of 20th Century aircraft and beautiful gardens is right on the doorstep, as are the beautiful Rowney Woodlands with some delightful woodland walks. Slightly further afield is the county town of Bedford., just a 25 minute drive. At the pub we welcome walkers and cyclists and well behaved dogs with drinks and bar snacks served daily. There is plenty of parking and both outdoor and indoor seating.
The county town of Bedford is just a 25 minute drive away. A traditional English market town situated on the banks of the River Ouse and centred on a medieval castle and the 13th-Century parish church of St Paul.
There are lots of interesting things to see and do including The Higgins Bedford art galleries and museum, The Pancea and The John Bunyan museum.
The city of Cambridge is come to the famous university of the same name and is centred around the river Cam.
Things to see and do other than walking round the beautiful town centre include the Fitzwilliam museum, Cambridge Junction art gallery and of course punting on the river Cam
The Shuttleworth collection and gardens are just a seven minute drive away from the pub.

A family-friendly attraction in Wilstead, Bedfordshire. With lots to do including owl handling, flying displays, tractor and trail rides and alpaca meet and greets.

RSPB The Lodge is a nature reserve run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. It is located south-east of the town of Sandy, Bedfordshire.
You can explore the beautifully managed gardens, the Iron Age banks and ditches on Galley Hill and wander the five miles of trails.
